CD Haun is a Historical Fiction author. Before he retired and began writing, he was a non-profit administrator, business owner, teacher, and weekend pastor.

He and his wife have two grown children and two grandchildren. For over 50 years, his family lived in California and Texas. The Haun’s now live in Colorado Springs in the Black Forest area with their dog Peanut. They love their home at 7,500 feet with it’s direct view of Pike’s Peak.


During the years they made their home in Texas, he was a business owner operating a scaffold and bleacher company. While he owned the business, his company was involved in numerous major construction projects throughout North Texas. The company was also the primary subcontractor for the 1984 Republican Convention in Dallas, a principal contractor for the Byron Nelson Golf Classic in Irving, and the stands and bleacher contractor for the Grand Prix Race in Dallas.


In the years prior to retirement, he returned to school and gained his certification as a history teacher. After teaching in public schools for a number of years, he taught in a Modern Orthodox Jewish Day School in Dallas, Texas. He completed his working career teaching at a college preparatory middle and high school in Southlake, Texas.

During his public-school career, he received several special awards. The first was the Miller Brewing Company Chair for Excellence in Teaching American History. A second was his selection as a Mandel Scholar at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.


He wrote Steps of Hatred: An Introduction to the Holocaust as a Mandel Scholar project. Since then, schools and organizations have presented the Reader’s Theater numerous times. He has written several other books and is now working on a second Ancient Rome novel titled: The Vigiles of Rome, which is expected to be available in early 2022.
